Above the Clouds

Driving up the mountain road

It gets foggier and foggier

My hands start to sweat

Can't see, says the Mind, a-tremble

The road disappears

Is this fog?

No, it's cloud!

Heart is beating fast

Keep going, can't stop

Scary, can't see, can't see

Just cloud, says a Voice

You can see enough to follow the road

All is well

The car drives itself

Breath is the wave on this sea of cloud

Fear floats in the white fluffiness

Then jumps a little, insisting, Can't see, it says

YES, YOU CAN!

Keep going, my love, it's not far

You're taken

We know the Way

You CAN see

Then

No cloud!

We drive out of it and into the sun

Blue skies above

Tree-filled mountains to our side

Laughter and Amazement

Wowww...

Keep going, to the top!

Walking up the trail now

The ancient forest rustles as we pass

Rays of sun gently fall on our heads

Still and Silent is All

Except for the magical ravens cawing

Kraa... Kraa... Kraa...

At the lookout now

Supposed to see the islands and sea

None of that, though

Just cotton-wool white cloud and mountains peaking out

It's so beautiful

I feel like a peaceful giant watching over the world

The blue sky, the warm sun, the forest and mountain behind us

Merge into a soft, soothing hum

As we, my Love and I, stand

Above the Clouds
